Many Miles is a collaborative acoustic driven rock effort of six high-level musicians from across the United States and beyond. Lead singers and songwriters Dave Tate and Victoria Lagerstrom started the group in 2014 to explore adding diverse players and styles to their original Acoustic Rock/Folk material. The members of Many Miles have spent years in various rock, pop, folk, jazz, blues,ska-punk, country and bluegrass outfits. Now scene veterans, they’ve come together to form a band that can do things their way, with an excitement and focus on exploring what acoustic driven rock can be when it is mixed with elements of jazz, reggae, world, and folk. Many Miles's sound can best be compared to the multi-style influenced efforts of the Dave Matthews Band, Paul Simon or Lizz Wright, but is contrasted by soaring male and female vocals sharing the lead singer position.
Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Dave Tate's graceful yet passionate acoustic music combines dynamic melodies, intimate tenor vocals, and poetic imagery in a style similar to the material of Paul Simon, Dave Matthews and Jeff Buckley. Garnering comparisons to singers such as Gladys Knight and Eva Cassidy, Victoria Lagerström’s voice adds an angelic and soulful texture to the bands' music. Guitarist Ryan Tilby is a nationally known multi-instrumentalist, and also a member of Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand. Drummer Chris Flaig is known for his ability to adapt to a variety of genres with ease and his innovative style. He has played in a number of groups from Punk to Rock to Folk. Bassist Steve Lemmon is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who has played with over a dozen projects all over the world on various instruments. His most recent effort is as the front man for Fish or Folk. Marco Blackmore holds a doctorate in Jazz Saxophone. He was the founding member of the Salt Lake Alternative Jazz Orchestra and a highly sought after Saxophonist.
Many Miles is now preparing material to record their debut album. Collectively they have toured across the United States and in Europe. They will be touring in the Western United States in 2014.
